If your board has ceramic fuses in it, it is old enough to be worth a look regardless of whether it is currently causing you trouble.

What an upgrade includes
Exactly what is needed depends on what is already there, but an upgrade usually covers:
- Modern circuit protection
- RCBO protection
- A main switch upgrade where needed
- Surge protection
- A new enclosure if the old one will not take it
- Every circuit identified and labelled properly
- Old and obsolete gear taken out
- Testing of the finished installation
- The compliance paperwork that goes with it
Straight answer
Do I need the whole board done?
Not necessarily, and we will not tell you that you do just because the board is old.
We look at what is installed, what protection you actually have on it now, and what you are planning to add. Then you get three answers: what needs doing now, what would be sensible to improve while we are in there, and what is fine to leave alone.
Plenty of boards need one or two things rather than a full replacement.
Before you build
Renovating, or adding something big?
An induction cooktop, an EV charger, a pool, a workshop or a big air conditioner all put very different demands on a supply that was sized years ago for none of them.
It is far cheaper to check the board and the available supply before everything else is installed and the walls are closed up. Ring us early and we will tell you what the electrical side of your plan actually needs.
